PHOTO GRANT DI DELOITTE

November 7 – December 15, 2024

From November 7 to December 15, 2024, MUDEC hosts the photographic exhibition of the prestigious Deloitte’s Photo Grant’s winners. The grant is promoted by Deloitte Italia under the patronage of Fondazione Deloitte and in collaboration with 24 ORE Cultura, the artistic direction of Denis Curti and the BlackCamera team.

The theme chosen for the second edition of Deloitte’s Photo Grant is Possibilities: this year photographers are asked to look to the future with the mission of capturing the possibilities of change and transformation that the present time, both personal and historical, presents to us.

The exhibition project will display the works by the winner of the 2024 edition grant (to be announced on next September) together with “Dust From Home” by Brazilian photographer Fernanda Liberti (Rio de Janeiro, 1994), the winner of 2023 OpenCall. The artist has been worked all year on her project thanks to the support provided by the grant. At the Museo delle Culture in Milan, she will present for the first time her unpublished project inspired by the migration stories of her family, having Syrian, Italian and Albanian origins, on a journey through time and space.

Starting from the precious family photographic archive, the artist has indeed created an incredible iconographic connection combining landscape, historical memory, nostalgia, heritage, and territorial politics. The exhibition will then be complemented by a preview of the project concept by the winner of the 2024 Open Call, dedicated to photographers Under 35.

Fernanda Liberti (Rio de Janeiro, 1994) is a Brazilian artist working with photography and video. She grew up in Rio de Janeiro, a chaotic metropolis surrounded by rainforest and beach; this contrast between natural and artificial realities is a recurring theme she explores in her work. From forests and waterfalls to human bodies and surreal settings, her work is an attempt to understand our relationship to the ever-changing environments in which we live. A study to explore the postcolonial roles and experiences of Afro-descendant people, women, and LGBTQ+ people in the 21st century.
